“You need to stand again in your own experiencing... to put into the world what hasn’t been said yet, that you are carrying from your particular experience.” - Gendlin
About
Do you sense something within - a persistent knot, a paradox, or a half-formed insight - waiting for its next step?
Thinking at the Edge (TAE) is a body-based process that helps you give voice to what you haven’t yet been able to say.
Whether you're untangling a personal dilemma, exploring a deep truth, or sensing into something new that wants to form—TAE offers a way to move forward.
With this offering, you’ll walk through steps 1-11 of TAE with one of eight experienced, trained companions, guided by Beatrice Blake’s eight-session
video course.
“Every step is a step into something new, and yet, it carries forward what was there.” — Gene Gendlin
What we’re offering:
A mutual journey—you’ll give and receive listening, deepening your own insights
Support for inner clarity—grounding and unfolding what’s been long felt but not yet spoken.
Welcoming all kinds of projects— personal healing, paradoxes, or the seeds of new ideas.
Who this is for:
Those with Focusing, felt sensing, or somatic inquiry experience
People exploring life direction, healing, or meaning-making
Anyone sensing, “There’s something here... but I don’t yet have the words”
Bonus Offer
TIFI members are also invited to Tertulias—FREE monthly salons hosted by Beatrice Blake and her TAE teachers-in-training (see over). These online gatherings explore Gendlin’s work and deepen the living context of TAE. Sign up by June 11 2025 for the first meeting on Friday June 13: www.focusing.org/event/fresh-look-gendlins-small-steps
Find Your TAE Companion
We are apprentices in Beatrice Blake’s Thinking at the Edge teacher training program and have personal experience and professional training in the TAE process. You’ll walk through Beatrice’s 8-session video course one-to-one with a companion—not as a student, but as a fellow explorer.
Together, you’ll be companioned and companion, be listened to and listen. We begin with a short conversation to sense into fit, timing, and shared readiness. This isn’t therapy or coaching— it’s a space for meaning to emerge from the body. See below for how to begin and course details.
Marta Woo
I’m a Focusing Trainer working with individuals, groups, and communities. My work weaves somatics, bodywork, movement, nature, and art. With warmth and wonder, I hold space where felt sensing meets natural forward movement - like a stream flowing from a pond, bringing clarity, fresh steps, and attunement with life.
I’m fluent in English and Polish.
